Sandy Smith sent me an update on the status of WOXY 97X (“BAM! The FUTURE of rock ‘n roll!”) — it turns out that the investors that they had hoped would back their new online-only format never materialized, so 97X — one of the last truly independent alternative stations out there — is going to completely cease to exist Thursday at midnight.
It’s the end of an era. You might want to tune into the Webcast while you still can.
