- Meanwhile, halfway around the world, democracy has won out in Ukraine as the people of that country finally got to have a fair election — an election which has elevated Western-leaning Viktor Yushchenko to power after many trials, including an attempt to poison him.
Tragedy in South Asia, hope in Eastern Europe. The universe works in mysterious ways…
