Jason Lefkowitz's forlorn hope
Sandy Smith sent me an update on the status of WOXY 97X (“BAM! The FUTURE of rock ‘n roll!”) — it turns out that the investors that they had hoped would back their new online-only format never materialized, so 97X — one of the last truly independent alternative stations out there — is going to completely cease to exist Thursday at midnight.
It’s the end of an era. You might want to tune into the Webcast while you still can.

yes woxy is leaving us forever tonight. I did a search on woxy today and came across this. the boards are a flurry over there and tears are flowing.
